Turnbull Restoration will unveil a series of new products at the Dallas Safari Club Convention. This group of new products offers something for everyone in the shooting sports. There will be a new .475 lever action rifle, 2 new additions to the increasingly popular family of Turnbull finished Ruger Mark IV pistols and, in a first for Turnbull, a Turnbull finished Ruger GP100 revolver.
All of the new products as well as more of Turnbull’s offerings will be on display in booth 4328 of the Dallas Safari Club Convention. The Convention is January 4-7 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas.
“When we were planning our January 2018 new products, we wanted to make sure there was a Turnbull for everyone in that group,” said CEO and Founder Doug Turnbull. “And we have done just that with the addition of the new 475 rifle and the GP100 as well as the new Mark IV models.”
DOUG TURNBULL SIGNATURE 475
The Doug Turnbull Signature 475 lever action rifle is the centerpiece of the 2018 new offerings. Built on the Browning Model 71 frame, the Signature 475 is the answer to demand for a large bore lever rifle that meets the same specs as Turnbull’s own 475 rifle. The rifle is chambered in the exclusive .475 Turnbull caliber and carries a rust blued 26 inch octagon barrel.
“A lot of people asked me about my 475 rifle wanting to get one,” noted Turnbull. “We have created a classic large bore lever action rifle that offers all of the things that make a Turnbull special. This is an instant family heirloom firearm.”
The rifle features Turnbull’s unique color case hardened finish on the receiver, hammer, lever, forend cap and grip cap. The rifle also features engraving inspired by the Winchester #6 pattern, highlighted with a gold inlaid Turning Bull logo on one side and the customer’s initials on the other. There is also gold inlay on the hammer and the barrel bands are gold. Each rifle carries Doug’s signature in gold on the barrel.
The stocks are top grade English Walnut with a pistol grip. The carving and checkering are in the Winchester factory F pattern at 24 lines per inch. The sights are an ivory/brass reversible front sight and a sporting style rear sight. The butt stock has a ½ inch rubber recoil pad. Base price is $20,000 and there are multiple consumer selectable modifications available.
TURNBULL FINISHED RUGER MARK IV STANDARD
The Turnbull finished Mark IV Family has two new members for 2018. There is a Standard with 6 inch barrel and a 22/45. Both carry all of the features that make the Turnbull finished Mark IV Family one of their best sellers.
“The amazing popularity of our Mark IV’s has us always looking to expand the line,” commented Doug Turnbull. “When we started talking about 2018 the question was not would we have new Mark IV models. The question was how many. These 2 are the first of the year. We are always looking at more variations on this classic target pistol.”
Both new Mark IV offerings are chambered in .22 LR. The 6 inch barrel version is built on the Mark IV Standard frame and has all of the features that have made the Turnbull Mark IV’s the pistol of choice for serious collectors. The tubes and barrels are Turnbull polished and color case hardened. MSRP is $550.
TURNBULL FINISHED RUGER MARK IV 22/45
The new Mark IV 22/45 has the polymer frame and synthetic checkered grips that the original has. It carries the Turnbull polished and color case hardened tubes and barrels and is also available with a threaded barrel. Base price is $525 and the threaded barrel adds $150 to that price.
TURNBULL FINISHED RUGER GP100
“When we were talking new products, we realized we had not introduced a revolver in a while,” Doug Turnbull pointed out. “The GP100 is a perfect platform for us especially given its strength. A lot of that comes from the design that eliminates the need for a removable side plate.”
The Turnbull Ruger GP100 is chambered in .357 Magnum and has 4.2 inch barrel. The cylinder features Ruger’s triple lock system for safety and stability. Outfitted with a Hogue® Monogrip®, the frame accommodates a large array of grip options available through Ruger. The Turnbull Ruger GP 100 revolvers will have a Turnbull polished and color case hardened frame.
The GP100 weighs in at 40 ounces and has an overall length of 9.5 inches. The rear sight is fully adjustable and the front blade sight is serrated for maximum visibility. The GP100 will retail at $995.
“Everyone here is very excited about 2018,” said Turnbull. “These new products are just the beginning of what we expect to be a banner year for Turnbull Restoration. Keep an eye out for more new products throughout 2018. We are always working on great new guns.”
