Winchester 1886 Deluxe, Take-Down

Description

Starting with an original Winchester 1886 standard rifle manufactured in 1889, we have transformed this rifle into a deluxe take-down rifle chambered in the original Winchester 50-110.

The lower tang and lever have been converted to a pistol grip configuration. The frame has been converted to a take-down and fitted with a new 26″ half round, half octagon barrel.  A two leaf express sight has been fitted to the barrel with a brass bead front sight. The lever has also been lengthened to accommodate the customers request to be able to shoot with a heavier glove. 

The butt stock and forend are new to the rifle, made with 3X fancy American Black Walnut. The pistol grip knob has the traditional ebony wedge inlaid in it as well as a cheek piece stock.  The stocks are checkered with an original factory H-pattern. The recoil pad is leather covered which was an option from Winchester originally.  The rifle has also been fit with the traditional “hook & eye” style sling swivels. 

The receiver, hammer, lever, and forend cap are finished with traditional Bone Charcoal Color Case Hardening. The barrel and magazine tube are blued using the Slow Rust Bluing process originally used by Winchester.
