Winchester Model 1876 Take Down
Sold
Description
Originally offered only in a solid frame version, the craftsmen at Turnbull Restoration & Manufacturing Co. have created the only take-down Model 1876 ever built. Using an original Winchester Model 1876, the original rifle has been transformed into a one of a kind rifle. By modifying the receiver and forend assembly, as well as converting the receiver to a pistol grip we have created a truly a unique Model 1876.
The rifle has also been converted to a pistol grip and re-stocked with 3X fancy walnut stocks. Both the checkering and engraving patterns are based on original Winchester factory patterns. The checkering is a “square back” H-pattern, and the engraving is a modified #10 pattern. The hammer, lever and both ends of the barrel are inlaid with gold wire.
This rifle has been used personally by Doug Turnbull to harvest a Buffalo in Kansas, and a 6×6 Elk in Colorado. This rifle has also been featured on the Cover of Rifle Magazine. The rifle does have some handling marks from the hunts, as well as being displayed at numerous gun shows.
Leave it to the craftsmen at Turnbull Restoration & Manufacturing Co. to create the most unique Winchester Model 1876 ever built. This is your chance to own one of Doug Turnbull’s personal rifles and the “rifle that Winchester never built”.
