Known around the world as “The Gun that Won the West,” Winchester’s Model 1873 is certainly among the icons. Turnbull Restoration is famous for its dedication to timeless classics, and we’re proud to offer our version of Winchester’s legendary lever action rifle.
Starting with a new Model 1873 Sporter with 24″ octagon barrel and straight grip, we apply our signature color case hardening process to the receiver, lever, hammer, butt plate and forend cap. The barrel and magazine tube are rust blued, while small parts are charcoal blued. In addition, we refinish the factory-checkered stocks in a hand-rubbed oil finish to match Winchester’s classic red shading.
Cowboy Action Shooters love the fact that the rifle fires the same ammunition as their .45 Colt revolvers. In addition, competitors love the ultra-smooth, short stroke lever action found on this version.
