Winchester Model 1873
Sold
Description
Originally built in 1883, this Model 1873 is a 3rd Model rifle that was restored by Turnbull Restoration & Manufacturing back in 2009. When we purchased the rifle it was in what you might call “rough shape”. The restoration of this rifle and subsequent upgrade work has transformed this rifle into a work of art.
We fit a new 20″ barrel, new magazine tube, ladder sight and 3 x fancy walnut stocks in the “short rifle” configuration complete with factory ‘H’ pattern checkering. After hand-polishing everything to our exacting standards, we engraved this firearm with “$1.50” engraving. This original Winchester engraving pattern consists of a light scroll work on the breech and muzzle ends of the barrel, forend cap, sides of the hammer and lever, dust cover and butt plate. Then all metal surfaces were finished using the original process used by Winchester when the rifle was built.
