Description
Presented for you today is an L.C. Smith Field Grade .410 gauge side-by-side shotgun. Carrying serial number FW133883, this desirable example is dated from 1931.
Metal Condition
This classic American double was recently refinished by Turnbull Restoration. This is NOT a restoration. Also note that, per the owner’s preferences, the metal refinishing did not include full polish. Therefore you will see some pitting, as shown in the photos below. Metal finishes include classic-era bone charcoal color case hardening of the action and rust bluing of the 26″ barrels. Bore is excellent.
Wood Condition
This field grade’s wood was recently refinished by Turnbull Restoration. Some very minor handling marks are visible.
Per the owner’s preferences, the metal refinishing did not include full polish. Therefore you will see some pitting, as shown in the photos below.
