L.C. Smith, Skeet Special
Sold
Description
This Skeet Special was partially restored by Turnbull Restoration. Work included partial stock cleaning/re-finish with a light re-cut on checkering. All metal finishes appear to be factory original. The barrels retain virtually all the original bluing with some thinning around the forend wood and some light scratches and handling marks. There is a small amount of surface rust starting to form on the bottom of the right barrel about 5″ from the muzzle.
The butt stock has two small handling marks on the left side near the butt plate. No visible cracks can be seen in the butt stock behind the lock plates or the top tang. The gun has been fired but the action & barrels remain tight. There is only moderate wear on the breech face with color case hardening still visible.
The receiver and trigger guard retain virtually 100% original color case hardening & charcoal bluing. There is only very slight wear on the sharp edges of the receiver and the bottom of the receiver. The color case hardening has been worn at the safety button and the right lock plate has two small scratches near the rear.
